If you are interested in playing with the Taverners can you please contact me and advise your availability for one, two, three or the whole 4 games. At the same time if you are able to officiate in any capacity I would love to hear from you. I can be contacted on 0401 112 794 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org As mentioned earlier the games start at 1pm sharp and finish by 5pm so it is not a great encroachment on your week end
If you are unable to play or officiate please come down with the family and have a drink and chat at the best cricket grounds in the Territory and possible of Australia
After last year’s successful game against the Pollies we have schedule another game on Sunday 28 June at Gardens Oval. Again all our games it will start at 1pm and finish at around 5pm. All games are played over 48 overs. Each team bats for 24 overs and each batting pair has 4 overs each and all participants bowl 2 overs each
I have written to the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly (and Taverner) Kezia Purich to promote the game among her parliamentary colleagues where we have a number of members and friends. She has kindly sent my letter to all her colleagues supporting this game. Thank you again Kezia.
As old members are aware this match honours and remembers the generosity of Geoff Akers and his support of the Lord’s Taverners and Darwin Women cricket. The commemorative match against Darwin Women X1 will be held on Sunday 19 July 2015. This is a tremendous event filled with emotion and reflection but played in the spirit of how Geoff played the game. In other words it is full of fun and good cheer.
This is an appeal our female members to play in the game and you should contact the Women organiser Julie page on 0418 470. Julie can also be contacted on email@example.com
Jeff Thomson has agreed to be our guest speaker at our 2015 Annual dinner which will be held at Sky City Casino in Thursday 17 September 2015.
Please put this in your diary as he is a very entertaining speaker and he does know his cricket. He is still recognised as the fastest bowler ever. It is sure to be a great night
